My name is Kenneth and I write cool Mac and iPhone software. This is my personal weblog where I post about stuff I find interesting. I usually write about Mac development, the business of shareware and the Mac community in general.
read more →One of the most popular articles on this blog has always been my tutorial on how to hack an War3 autorefresh bot for Mac.
However, it’s still quite a clunky hack, and many commenters have been unable to get it work smoothly. Even I gave up on it when I upgraded to Leopard.
Introducing Warmonger

Warmonger is a Mac-like autorefresh bot for Warcraft III. It does that and only that, but it does it well, reliably and most importantly, natively.
Warmonger is completely free, too.
Using Warmonger is easy: Create a game on Battle.net, switch to Warmonger and hit Refresh, get back to War3 and enjoy your autorefreshing game.
Warmonger knows to stop automatically when your game starts. Once it’s launched, you don’t even have to worry about it anymore. It really is that simple.

Does this work on anything below Leopard?
Tried to boot it on OS X 10.4.11, with no success.
Nope – I should’ve mentioned it but this requires Leopard. You can still try the old tutorial which was written on Tiger.
You’ll probably get banned for using this. Wouldn’t try it.
Autorefresh bots are perfectly legal by Battle.net rules and have been used for years. There’s no risk involved.
i need a banlist and a spoofer
and custom kick
Yeah, works great.
Bots just need a shorter delay to leave the game
And need banlist
Hey, I am using Mac 10.4.11 and I downloaded the thing but when I open it up, nothing happens. Help!
Warmonger requires Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard minimum.
Awwww damnit. Think you can make one for lower? I use ar.py but it’s really slow
Tiger is getting old, I think it’s time to upgrade
. I don’t have any 10.4 install left to test on, so I’m afraid Leopard will remain the minimum.
How much is an upgrade :P
$129 on the Apple Store, although you may find it for cheaper on Amazon.
Okay, thanks :D
Do you know if theres anyway to speed up the rate of the auto refresh ar.py?
your my hero, thanks man, really.
cheers man. it works awesome.
have you ever thought about figuring out how to make delay reducer work?
Thanks alot great job. Saved me time from doing this myself. Are you working on any other bot projects? Cheers~

i agree with hazza
you should really make a delay reducer 4 mac
AWESOME!!! NOW I CAN HOST!
You rock Kenneth!!!
This rocks thanks man I’ve been needing this.
Thanks a lot !
Should you update it ?
Man i love this!. Now all i need is some way to see the latency of the people thats joining my game.
i have to press refresh for it to refresh it doesnt automatically do it. what do i do?
Hey,
Can you write a delay reducer?? or some kind of LAN hostin 3rd party program..because people are sayin due to the mac’s parameters we can’t have 3rd party programs but this is obviously not true if this refresher works. btw i like it alot thx
Yo, I’m using this but nothing hapens. I’m using snow leopard. Also Under “name” what do I put?
Are you planning on releasing a Delay Reducer? If not, can you point me to any resources on how I can develop one?
Have something to say?
